New MHRA-funded Research Associateship

Strand 3 image: intelligibility

We’re delighted to announce that Creative Multilingualism’s third strand (Intelligibility: Creating Intelligibility across Languages and Communities) has won its funding bid for an MHRA Research Associateship. The role was awarded by the Modern Humanities Research Association (MHRA) and is ‘designed to hasten the completion of research projects of special importance’.

Dr Alessandro Carlucci has been appointed and will start working on the Creative Multilingualism programme in October 2017. Our Intelligibility strand is researching what makes, or breaks, our ability to understand other languages related to our own. It is led by Martin Maiden, Professor of the Romance Languages at the University of Oxford. You can find out more about the research on the strand page.
