Scriptworlds 2019
Date
31 May - 1 June 2019
Location
Mosher Hall, UC Santa Barbara
Recent discoveries in neuroscience have revealed that the way we write has developed within the constraints of the brain and our visual system. The findings push us to rethink our understanding of literature beyond the confines of state and national language.
The Scriptworlds Conference will bring together an interdisciplinary group of scholars who base their work on the fact that the human visual system adapts culturally. Join talks on Linguistics, East Asian Languages, English, Visual Art, Jewish Studies, American Sign Language, Comparative Literature and Emojis.
