Arabic poetry and stories translation workshop: Love and nostalgia, poetry and song with Mourid Barghouti

Award-winning Palestinian poet and writer, Mourid Barghouti, on classical and modern Arabic poetics and Umm Kulthum, in conversation with Professor Marina Warner and Professor Wen-chin Ouyang.

Mourid Barghouti is a Palestinian poet born in 1944, he has published 13 books of poetry. His first book of poetry was published in Beirut in 1972, and he has published 13 books of poetry since. He was awarded the Palestine Award for Poetry (2000). His poems are published in Arabic and international literary magazines.
